X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills

X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills - Chris Claremont, Brent Eric Anderson Note: uses the N-word and has dead children. This is not X-Men for little kids.

God Loves, Man Kills is a storyline that the X-Men movies have mined for material, even if it hasn't directly been adapted. Reverend William Stryker whips the non-mutant populace up into an anti-mutant furor, and Professor X and the X-Men are caught in the middle.

It's very much a product of it's time - Chris Claremont is in full form here, with word balloons and thought balloons all over. That does mean some amazing Magneto speeches, though. Brett Anderson does an admirable job with the art, fitting in with the other artists drawing these books at the time. It's brutal and while a bit dated, the message still resonates all too well today.
